Virtual Birth Services

Due to the current and ever-changing recommendations regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), I have transitioned all education sessions to a virtual platform.

As we all know babies don’t wait (or have the option to postpone) being born. Being well aware of this fact I AM NOT CANCELING any appointments. My goal and hope is that you continue to feel prepared and supported now more than ever with all the uncertainty swirling around us.

The health and safety of my clients and their families is my top priority!

Please know, I did not come to this decision lightly. While I meet with many of my clients and students privately and can sanitize between visits, I have no way to know or control whether the clients I am visiting with have been exposed to or carry the virus, therefore putting myself and other pregnant clients and their families at risk.

Video sessions will allow me to continue to equip you, as expecting parents, with the tools and care you need to navigate your pregnancy and birth experience with confidence.

These sessions will be LIVE

As the instructor, I will be speaking and interacting with you in real-time. You can ask questions, participate in discussions and activities, etc. This will NOT be a series of recorded videos that you will have to sit and watch alone.

Preparation is key to your confidence

Feeling independently confident in making the best choices for you and your baby is the best way to confront this situation. That being said, it is extremely important to equip yourselves with an understanding of your own philosophy and vision for birth, learn about the anatomy and physiology of childbirth as well as your options and rights, become knowledgable on the different stages of labor, explore relaxation methods and comfort techniques, and become equipped with tools to communicate with your care team.

Physical Supplies and Parent Guides

Along with learning all that is listed above, each family will receive a goodie bag full of resources in advance of their education session including a parent guide.

Thank you for your understanding during this time, and your continued support as we all try to navigate these events together. I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!

***I have always had an open-door policy for questions and concerns and I hope if you’re feeling the need that you reach out.***

Retaining Leanna for our birth was a wonderful decision. I was looking for someone who could encourage me along with my husband. Leanna did so much more! She gave me reassurance in the weeks leading up to my delivery via phone and text, demonstrated rebozo techniques for before and during labor, and helped me when my contractions were all consuming. She had us do a Your Birth Experience class and it was super helpful to identify my deeper feelings about trust in medical care, safety, and my unique personality needs. When it came time for me to go to the hospital she worked right alongside the nurses and I received wonderful care. With her physical and emotional support, I was able to have an amazing and unmedicated birth. She helped with breastfeeding and really just gave me a friend for the journey. I was scared and she helped me be brave and believe in myself.
I highly recommend Leanna. She will encourage you and support your wishes. Having her knowledge and hearing her constant reassurances was worth it’s weight in gold!

Leanna was great! For various reasons we got her help with “everything but the birth.” She really helped my husband and I know what we would need at the hospital, particularly in regards to communication and emotionally. My husband and I both felt empowered to ask for what we wanted for our birth experience and went to the hospital in sync with each other. I’m so grateful for that and wouldn’t have had that (or known that I needed it) without Leanna’s help.

Leanna was amazing! I was so nervous about labor and birth before hand and she helped me not only understand the process but she was there with any questions or concerns. During the beginning stages of labor she messaged me back right away and as soon as I told her I needed her there, she was there right away! The whole process went so much smoother because she was there doing everything from helping me continue breathing, letting me smell essential oils, reminding me of my birth mantra, and constantly encouraging me through 4 hours of pushing. My husband was great but didn’t know the first thing about helping someone during childbirth. Leanna also offered support the weeks after labor and is so sincere and sweet. Both my husband and I are so happy we hired Leanna! Our daughters birth wouldn’t have been as enjoyable without her there!

Leanna is very well educated when it comes to birth. She answered all of our (very detailed) questions and provided everything we needed to visualize and prepare for our hospital birth. While we did have a natural birth in the hospital, we went in with a sense of peace feeling informed about the procedures and options I had if an intervention was needed.

I highly recommend Leanna of Expecting A Blessing, and can personally attest to her experience and wholeheartedly recommend her Doula services. She has a calming, warm presence during the birthing process- and I’ve witnessed her gentle coaching, pain/pressure relief, support of the father, and empathy first hand. I love that she supports all birthing plans, and has an innate nature to read mom’s cues during labor. (Rather than asking mom 1000 questions, she gently reads the labor, and provides support or privacy, and transitions gently and proactively.)
If my family wasn’t already complete, I would undoubtedly hire her as my Doula!

I was a bit leery about this class only being one day and not a traditional multi-week class. Due to work and being 36 weeks, I needed something short and sweet.  Leanna came well prepared for our session with activities, visuals, and a parent guide and was ready on the spot to answer questions and concerns. This class was very thorough and helped me feel like I put a lot of effort into preparing myself in just a short amount of time.

We are so grateful that Leanna was our Doula. Leanna was referred to us from another doula; and even before meeting, Leanna was available via text message and phone call until we were able to meet in person. She was very helpful, calm, sincere to me and to my husband as we prepared for birth. She helped us with discussing our birth plan and helped us through making big decisions at the end of our pregnancy and through our crazy labor. Her advice was based on much work experience. She was a great listener through our pregnancy and labor. During labor, she was an amazing resource. She was able to identify my crazy back labor as I did not have this with my first. She provided massage and reverse pressure on my hips and back which felt amazing and helped me get through those tough contractions. During labor when tough decisions had to be made, she did a great job of explaining and providing feedback on pro’s and con’s. Leanna was a much-needed support and we are grateful that she was there through a long tough labor. She is a fantastic addition to our birth team!
